With the beast down under the bridge and out of sight, several of the armed men from the National Guard moved up to verify the creatures death. A group of three pointed their rifles at Lia and one yelled, "Drop the weapon!" Lia turned, the rifle falling from her grip as she released it and one of the men moved up to restrain her. Soon she was restrained, this time guarded by armed men. They had taken her guns. They had attempted to remove her mask for several minutes, giving up when they could not find a way to release and deciding to come back to that later.

Washington DC

Working within his office on his computer, Navy Admiral and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff William Adams stopped typing the report he had been writing on as his desk phone rang.

"Yes?" he queried after lifting the reciever to his ear.

"We have an urgent situation in New York. The President is calling an urgent meeting to discuss the situation with the Chiefs and military intelligence."

"Contact the Chiefs and have them meet in the Emergency Briefing room in half an hour." the Admiral replied.

"Yes, sir."

Saving his file and grabbing the hat that was placed on his desk Adams strode out the door and headed down the hallway to the briefing room to prepare for the President's arrival.

Sheppard turned to face the National Guard soldiers who had approached, nodding at the one that seemed the senior of the trio. When one raised his weapon at Sheppard, the Air Force Officer smiled and said:

"Lieutenant Colonel Sheppard?"

"Wait... the guy from Stargate Atlantis? What the fuck is wrong with you, man? Stop acting like a clown and go back to the set..." One of them said forcefully, raising an eyebrow.

"The set? Set of what?" John asked, confused.

"Of your show. Stargate..."

"What are you talking about, soldier?" John asked, evermore confused as he brought out his dogtags, "See?"

Andrew released the pressure on Nova as she coughed and sputtered, water pouring from her mouth and onto the grass. The Knight followed her gaze to the bridge, which still had bits and pieces at the ends crumbling off.

"Yeah, the Behemoth needs air just as we do." Andrew replied, looking out at the river. It reminded him of the Patomic. It just hadn't had most of it's water evaporated, wasn't irradiated and filled with rubble, and there werent Raiders taking potshots at him from the other side.

"Hey, are you alright?" The Lone Wanderer asked, looking back down at Nova. She didn't really have a chance to respond, however as nine National Guardsmen suddenly dashed from the surrounding bushes and streets; M16A4's raised and ready for combat. Andrew glanced around at the men in ACU, sighing. He'd killed a few cops earlier, no doubt these people were pissed about that, and the fact that they had just destroyed a bridge.

The Knight raised his hands in surrender, as two National Guardsmen grabbed his biceps and pulled him back, away from Nova. They thrusted him to the ground, wrenching his arms behind his back and removing his weapons from him; along with his helmet. Soon Andrew felt cuffs click around his wrists, and he was hauled back to a standing position, being forced along towards the Nation Guard's firing line, where a National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk was gliding to the ground.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

James jogged lightly through the snowy streets, the yellow lights of the lamposts glowing off the snow. He'd just rotated back from Afghanistan, and was on leave. He decided to see the ball drop for once in his life. Then some guy dressed up for some Cosplay shit dropped from the sky, toting around a G3 Assault Rifle. He had opened fire upon a few officers, and retreated into the city. Then some big ass monster that looked like it had crawlen straight from a Godzilla movie began to tear up the area. Being fought by both the National Guard and several unknowns. It was insane, and difficult to understand.

Apparently, the thing had been forced onto George Washington Bridge. And then someone had snapped the cables, destroying the bridge. Now the off-duty Private First Class was on his way to help in any way possible, because that had to of caused a lot of casualties.

PFC. Ainston pressed up against a brickwall near the corner of the street, slowing his jog to a creep. The man peeked around the corner, spying the National Guard line, and several other... people? He really didn't know. The Marine stepped around the corner, but then his foot collided with something metal. It skidded a foot or so down the sidewalk, and James glanced down to see what he had struck. "What the hell?" He crouched down, grasping the hilt of a silver sword. The Marine stood up, looking the thing over. "Who the fuck would use a sword in combat?"

The National Guard now had the group surrounded on the bridge and shore. Two of took Lia to the black hawk and told her to climb into the vehicle. The Spawns had seemingly disappeared, but they were watching from the shadows, where no human could possibly see them.

Sheppard joined in the action by raising his weapon and adding to the collection of barrels pointed at the now seemingly captive. The soldier who had been leading the introductory trio strolled over to him after exchanging a few hushed words with the overall senior. As he approached, John lowered his P90.

"Okay. Your tags seem real, and you have your hands on military technology, but we don't have any records of you." he said gruffly, "So, what gives... sir?"

"What gives is that either your database is screwed over, or something odd has gone on." Sheppard frowned, scratching his stubble, "We have a strange looking elf thing in your chopper, a drowning Godzilla and barely half a bridge. I don't think any of that stuff is normal, unless I missed something last tour."

Chuckling, the gruff-voiced man patted John on the shoulder.

"Take a seat in front of the elf. Make sure it doesn't try anything."

John and the soldier parted; One headed towards his superior, the other to his designated seat. Sheppard sat in front of the elf, who was quite clearly female, and raised the barrel of his P90 up to her chest.

The soldier looked down at the pile of black and gray armor, the figure seemingly unmoving, he gestured to his comrade, "Tell 'em to get a heavy lift kit," he glanced back at the Spartan, "We're definitely gonna need it."

One of the soldiers,(Interestingly one not in uniform, and how she could tell he was a soldier was a mystery. Experience, or maybe because he touched her sword? Or maybe because he was the seventh) had picked up her old sword, Joyeuse. He had made a comment about the worth of a sword in battle, and though it was true, she preferred using her sword still. It was in the rules, after all, and it wasn't like a few people with guns could stop her in this strange place. She had fought worse, much worse. Didn't much matter anyway? She needed a Master, and this kid seemed to be the one she wanted. He must be the seventh, or something along those lines. She'd have to instruct him how to finish the seal, however. It was weak at best, being only created by his use of the (Her) sword.

Seeker silently walked down the staircase of the building, passing a few odd humans. The warriors would soon capture her, in this weakened state of hers. She would have to get to her Master first, at the least. Silently, she stopped at a random room, knocking the door down with her elbow. A quaint, small, one person apartment, but then, she really didn't know what half the things in here were. Like that honestly mattered, so she put those things behind her, as she searched for something to cover herself in. After a few seconds of searching, she found the dresser in the bedroom, looking through it. If she had to wear a man's clothes, then so be it. It wasn't like she hadn't done it before, or anything. She did find a tan cloak (Despite the fact that a normal person would, or should have a cloak in a big city such as this one), and hastily put it on. Now with something to keep warm in, and to hide most of her body in, she continued down the stairs, hitting the lobby a few hastily gotten through floors later.

Now in the lobby of the apartment building, she slowly approached the kid who had her sword. She kept her head at a slant towards the ground, and her eyes lowered, not making contact. She had her usual emotionless expression on her face, her eyes keeping track of the rubble on the ground. If she had, and knew what sunglasses were, she'd probably wear them also, to hide even more of herself away. But as it was, this would suffice for now, at least, until she could figure out where she was. her job however, she did know about. She'd have to protect the kid for a while, blend in with this new world, and keep on her toes. At the very least, she had gotten a Widely out of all this. It was a gun; an effective one, at that. And guns had a tendency of allowing her to kill people. And people you kill die.

Nova could so little in her weakened state as Andrew was yanked away by newly-arived soldiers. In turn, she was roughly brought upright and relieved of her own weapons before being frogmarched to a waiting Blackhawk.

This was NOT becoming a good day...

Leon struggled as the soldiers confined his hands with zip-ties, "I've told you, I work for the President. He'll vouch for me."

The soldier laughed, "Yeah, which President?"

"President Granham," Leon replied sternly, the plastic already digging into his wrists.

"You think you're a real funny guy, eh?" the soldier shot back.

"What? No-" The soldier kicked the 'Government Agent' in the back of the knee, sending him down on one knee, the soldier pulling a taser from his hip pouch, the ends sparking. He jammed the prongs in between Leon's shoulder blades, sending a jolt of electricity through the blonde agent's body before he collapsed to the ground.

"Christ, man. You coulda killed 'em," one of the soldiers remarked, grabbing the agent's legs.

"He'll be fine in a bit," the first soldier replied, putting his taser back in it's place on his belt, "No serious harm done." The soldier turned away as his men loaded the supposed agent into a waiting Blackhawk, the grey armored soldier from before was being loaded into a waiting Chinook, seemingly the only thing durable enough to carry his two-ton frame without overloading the craft. Logistics would want to crack his tech most likely, the eggheads always wanted some new toy to play with.

Lia noticed the man climb into the helicopter and pointing a weapon at her chest. The Quarian looked the man in the eyes defiantly, the cold, piercing glow that would have been her eyes focused on him, "Any reason you have to point a gun at someone who isn't armed?"

Admiral Adams finalised his report on the New York situation and was almost on the verge of wrapping up when one of the Joint Chiefs, an Air Force General, stood.

"It's not just New York, Mr President," the General gravely spoke as he strode to the front of the table with a projector remote. "We are getting reports from elsewhere of similar sightings."

As the General keyed a button, the projector played a video recording filmed in what looked like Trafalghar Square.

"London." the General added, punctuating his remark by playing the clip, showing civilians running through the square as a pair of tall, bipedal walkers loomed in the distance, displaying aquilas on their sides.

"Moscow." Red Square was in chaos; civilians and police were clashing with what looked like disfigured ... humans?! One or two of the Chiefs seemed to look ill at the sight.

"Cairo." The burning hulk of some kind of crashed ship birned in the sands in Egypt's outskirts as a few onlookers crept closer to investigate.

"Bejing." Within the main street of the capital, several police oficers had what looked like - Elves (?) - at gunpoint as one of the arrivals babbled in utter confusion; the officers' expressions varied between degrees of curiosity and confusion as one of them tried to calm the talker down.

"Canberra." The footage displayed was from an RAAF F/A 18's gun camera; the aircraft was swooping low over the cityscape, missiles blazing as it fired at what looked like a column of tanks - some of whom where converting to artillery pieces as the fighter was sent cartwheeling by a ground-to-air missile.

"Even Siberia-"

The President waved a hand in dismissal. "I think that will be enough, General; we get the picture."

As the General sat, a Vice-Admiral piped up, "This isn't an organised attack, Mr President. What we are seeing is global anarchy and thus far, we have no idea who these arrivals are or where they came from."

Turning to the Chiefs, the President raised an eyebrow as he asked, "Opinions? Options?"

Andrew hardly resisted as he was forced to the Blackhawk, but that didn't mean he made it easy for the National Guardsmen. He began to drag his feet against the asphalt, and resisting slightly when they attempted to force him to turn. They needed six men to support the weight of his armor.

Eventually, they reached the Blackhawk. Andrew was tossed into the hold, his cheek colliding with the deck. He felt his teeth dig into his skin, and his mouth suddenly tasted like copper. Two more Guardsmen forced him upright, setting him in one of the seats and strapping him in.

---
James looked up as someone dressed in an overcoat began to walk towards him, the Marine stepped forward, holding up a hand to stop them. "Excuse me?" He asked politely, stepping in front of them. "Do you know what's going on here?"

The girl continued her approach, stopping a couple feet away from him, just enough for the kid to have remote personal space. There were others approaching, though they were a few blocks away, enough time for now. Her Master would need to be protected from these people, if need be. They were armed with their automatic rifles, and thus, were fair game. And of course he was polite; at the least someone here knew the concept of chivalry. She was slightly confused of him asking about was going on, as he had been the one who had summoned her, right? It didn't matter, she still needed him to complete the summon, later.

"I must ask of you, are you my Master?" While she had ignored his question per say, she had to know this answer. And as the summon wasn't really complete, she didn't have to follow every order to the letter- but of course, she would try to- and such. She looked up slightly, making clear cut eye contact between the two of them, an extremely serious look on her face. She kept her hands clenched together in fists at her side, just barely poking out of her yellow-tan duster on either side. Her metal gauntlets were still on of course, hiding her skin under plated metal, unmoving.

Nova stayed as silent as a sullen child as she was shoved into one of the Blackhawks that had landed - quaint craft that could barely hold six T erran Marines. She frowned at her guardian as he sat opposite her, an automatic weapon in his hand.

***

"Hey, Sarge!" a National Guardsman called out to his squad leader as he stood on part of what was left of the bridge. "We've got another one down there! In the rubble!"

The Sergeant and three other NG's ran over to the pile as two of them began to haul the person out from the rubble. The others brandished their rifles, preparing to arrest this unknown and ship him off with the others.

***

Two Guardsman near one of the blocked off streets noted the wandering Rexan and raised their weapons, barking out for him to halt at once.

One of the Guardsmeen rolled his eyes at Lev as he manacled Lev's wrists behind his back "Yeah, yeah, that's what they all say. Get moving."

The four Guardsmen began to shuffle Lev towards the nearest helicopter.

One of the Guardsmen frowned. "I don't think we can help with that, sir. We actually have orders to seal this area off ... and place you under arrest."

The Guardsman gestured to his two comrades, "Take him in."

No hope, no hope...

Hope?

No Hope, no Hope.

But...

None.

+-+-+

There was nothing dramatic surrounding Collins awakening. There was a slap. Then, some words.

"Kid? You all right, kid?"

Collins mumbled in reply.

"No response. Hit him."

Mentally, Collins registered the phrase of "hit him" as a threat, but his body wouldn't respond to his brain right now. Then, there was a strange feeling- not of being hit, though. Something pressed against his forehead and traced a slash from just above his right eye diagonally to the hair above his left eye. It was a slightly moist object, and it felt very strange. There followed a shuffling of feet- two pairs, although Collins was too muddled to register this. The shuffling grew fainter and fainter until a loud, "We got another!" rang into his ears.

"This one's alive!"

"Finally, finally! We won't go home empty handed!"

There was a loud groan from somewhere to Collins' left. Collins then opened his eyes, deciding that sight would help solve this mystery. What did he see?

"Holy fuck." he whispered, just barely. He was out of breath- his lungs barely seemed to be working. His eyes were, though, and they showed a terrifying image. In his image there was a river filled with great chunks of cement, metalwork, and flesh. Collins would figure out soon what that flesh belonged to, once he woke up some more and thought a little bit. All around the river- on the banks, even as far as the street Collins now lay on, still- were great chunks of things spread out. There were some crushed bodies, some seemingly fine bodies. On most of the bodies, there were red slash marks on their foreheads. Wait, does-

He rolled onto his side and roared a mighty coughing fit in which dust, phlegm, ash, and blood ejected from his body. It made a sick stew on the ground, on murky reddish grey against the black asphalt backdrop.

"Wait, wait! This one's awake!"

His lungs slightly more clear, Collins breath was heavy for a few seconds. The sudden intake of oxygen felt so amazing- he'd barely even registered that it was missing moments before. There was a shuffling of feet, this time growing louder instead of softer. A soft, wet cloth wiped across his forehead, and Collins looked up to see two military men. He smiled, faintly, as he passed out again.
